A quick note to anyone trying to get a hold of me via email over the next couple weeks; you’ll need to have patience! I’m actually going to be away from my regular net connection though i will check in periodically, so hey, write but just don’t expect an immediate response!

And as for the rest of you who are awaiting new releases, don’t worry, i may be off my regular net connection but i’m still putting in full time hours every day to get the new chapters out… So don’t hassle me!

So here’s the thing; with Chapter 4 Retooled out now, the current version of Chapter 5 (badly in need of a make-over) looks rather out of place in the line up… Especially with that big rainbow coloured truck sitting there in the middle of Westlake. But hey, i guess that’s my incentive to get Ch. 5 Retooled out as fast a possible.

And then of course comes the much anticipated Chapter 13. Hope it’s not too much of a let down after all this anticipation!

Also want to get some desktop wallpapers and a new trailer up soon too but i know where the priorities are, so those’ll have to wait!

Hello all, welcome to the Minushi Production Log. I suppose a public production log 30 months into production is a little late in coming but you know what they say. Truthfully i’ve maintained a private production log since the get-go but not until recently have i felt that anything i included in it would be of any interest to anyone but me. With that and the apparent lag in Minushi chapter releases here on Minushi.com i’ve decided it might be nice to keep you all abreast of what’s going on behind the scenes here so that you’re aware that at least something is going on behind the scenes and that Minushi is still in full production!

So i suppose the question on everyone’s mind is “What’s the hold up? When’s Chapter 13 coming out?” Well, my fair Minushians it all comes down to what i’ve been calling the “Retooling” of Minushi.

Why retool old episodes? Here’s why:



These are before and after frames of the retooled Chapter 4. See when you’re doing all the drawings yourself and these drawings are spread out over a period of years then there’s bound to be some disparity in elements that are carried throughout the entire process, namely characters. Also i really felt that there were improvements that needed to be made to these early episodes to bring them up to the quality that you see in the more recent chapters. As Minushi is destined to be cut together as one complete feature length movie, this consistency is quite important.

Man, what’s going on in that early version?! I love how bad that is! Fortunately it’s a shot that’s only on screen for half a second.

Anyway, so that’s why the retooling is taking place. But don’t despair, the worst is behind us. There was quite a lot to revamp in Chapter 4 (more so than any other chapter) and very little to retouch in Chapter 5 and 6. Very little.

And the good news above that is that the drawings for Chapter 13 and 14 are already completed and waiting!

So hang tight and enjoy the latest retooled Chapters. There’s actually been a bunch of new footage added to Chapter 4 on top of the improvements to the visuals so hey, that’s something. Here’s another couple examples of how things have been improved:
