Well the first 60 minutes of the Minushi feature length cut are looking great! Over the past couple weeks i’ve been adjusting Flash files for the video exports necessary to edit the feature length version of the movie. Sitting down and watching sixty straight minutes of Minushi on the big little screen with it’s hi-fi sound is a beautiful thing! The revised score will be the component that requires the most adjustments and as of yet, the demo i’ve prepared is still without music.

I’ve also been busy trying to gather info about distributors and film festivals in order to get something together in the way of releasing this feature length motion picture to the world so you can all see what Minushi was produced to look like as a whole.

The feature edit of Minushi is coming along well. The edit requires a lot of tweaking and will hopefully be an entirely different experience from a viewing stand point than the online chapters. Making a feature length motion picture by yourself takes a really long time. After careful reflection, i wouldn’t recommend it. By yourself, that is, with the exception of the fantastic actors i’ve coaxed into contributing. But enough about me, how are you?

Minushi - Chapter 14 will be up later this week. As mentioned previously, somewhere, i’m going to have to speed up production of the feature length release or slow down release of the online chapters in the coming months to prevent cranial explosion. Guess which of those is more likely to be my route, speeding up or slowing down. With any luck you’ll all stick around through this stint and continue to support Minushi in all it’s forms as we move forward.

I don’t think i’ve brought this up before but for awhile i was trying to get a subtitles onto the online chapters including a French translation but that hasn’t come through yet and unfortunately i’m going to have to hold off indefinitely while more immediate things take precedence. For those hearing impaired folks out there and/or the French, i beg your patience.

Well production slowed slightly over the holiday season but it’s back in full swing now on two fronts: 1, production on the online chapters continues but time now has to be made for, 2, production on the feature length cut of Minushi.

The feature length version will be slightly different from the way the show is unraveled online, and along with that there’s a lot of technical tweaking that has to be accomplished when making the transfer from Flash for the web to video. As such production on the chapters will have to slow slightly to make up for the time spent elsewhere; consider that my disclaimer; release dates will likely be getting a little further apart not closer. But hey, in the end, it’ll all be worth it!

Below is a drawing for use in a scene in the feature length cut of Minushi that will not be released in any online chapters.
