Minushi Distribution

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Here’s the deal faithful Minushians; I’m the type who’d rather not say anything than to make promises that are not going to be kept. However, I also sympathize with the frustration of not hearing anything on the subject of a Minushi DVD for months on end and so I feel you all deserve somekind of update.

As things stand, I have not found a third-party distributor who I feel will give Minushi a fair shake in the DVD market - I’m not going to get into it more than that, but indie filmmakers who’ve dealt with small to middle weight distributors probably know exactly what kind of snow-jobs one might expect from this type of business. So - and I’m sorry it’s taken me this long to reach this determination - once again the DIY method seems like the best way to get things done.

That said, I hope (no promises, because I still don’t know all the obstacles that may arise) that a Minushi DVD will be available for online sales before the end of the year.

I often forget that most of the free world hasn’t seen Minushi’s third act which is a tragedy that has gone on long enough. More news soon.

Side by Side

So, in case you’ve been losing sleep over just how deadly my karate chopping fists of fury really are you can rest assured that there was more to the “Chop” demonstation than met the eye. Either that or I’ve developed a cloning machine which is a much more frightening idea.

No… No, it’s just Final Cut Express and Photoshop, sadly. Visual effects are basically just like animation.

Think of what I could get done with a team of clones… Sigh.

Spent the weekend shooting a new short with cohort Marc Schultz - if it turns out, maybe it’ll make it to a YouTube near you.

No Splinters

Monday, September 10th, 2007

The past couple weeks have been about familiarizing myself with some new equipment and the video above is small a side-effect of that process. There will be more demos/experiments like it to come as well as some more well balanced short films once I get used to things - because godknows the scripts are there! And before you email me and ask: No, it’s not a fake log. No, it’s not a pre-cut log. Yes, I am deadly, but that’s really got nothing to do with it but by all means keep guessing.T

Me on Me

Hey web denizens, Boneheads and Minushians in case there wasn’t enough useless ego-mongering on the web already I’ve finally added my namesake to the fray.

Here at the sexily named TylerGibb.com you’ll get the low-down and up-to-date news on all things… Well, me. Fans of Minushi, don’t you fret, things are still moving along and you’ll get all the latest right here. Fans of Boneland, you probably can’t even read this because if my web traffic stats have anything to say about it you’re mostly Turkish or Brazillian at this point… But hey! I love you all the same.

What I really want to use this handy little acre of webspace for is simply to keep you all informed and to help you get in touch with or stay in touch with me.

On my side of the web I am currently gearing up to shoot a new feature - live-action this time but no less intrinsically linked to the web in production and in content actually. I’m going to keep you all informed of my progress via this site and hope that this time things will roll out a bit quicker than last time.

That’s it for now. Stay in touch.

Minushi at Fantasia

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

fantasiaMinushi held its world premiere on Tuesday July 10th at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal.

It was super to see my little browser window epic on a giant screen. I got to answer a few questions and feel like a little browser window big shot for about two and half minutes.

I must do this again sometime.
